A deep-dive call + custom plan so you’re not guessing your way through probate.
When someone you love dies, the emotional load is heavy enough. Add in court, a house, a will (or no will), bank accounts, cars, and family opinions—and it’s easy to feel like you’re drowning.
The Probate Companion Call is a 60–90 minute one-on-one session where we slow everything down, look at your exact situation, and build a clear, written plan for what to do next.
This is not a generic workshop. It’s your family, your facts, your next steps.
What we cover on the call
During your 60–90 minute call (Zoom or phone), we’ll:
- Walk through who died, where they lived in Alabama, and what’s in the estate
- Clarify whether you’re likely dealing with:
- Full probate
- A smaller/summary process
- Or situations where certain assets may pass outside probate
- Talk about which court you’re dealing with and what that court typically wants
- Map out what you can probably handle yourself vs. where it makes sense to involve a lawyer
- Prioritize the next 30–60 days so you’re not waking up at 3am wondering what you forgot
What you get after the call
Within a few days of our call, you’ll receive:
- A written 30–60 day Next Steps plan in plain English
- A custom checklist of tasks, broken down into small steps (with approximate timing)
- Draft email/letter templates you can tweak and send to:
- Family members and heirs
- Creditors and debt collectors
- Realtors / potential buyers
- Utility companies and other services
- A list of documents to gather and questions to ask if/when you speak with an Alabama attorney
You’ll walk away knowing:
“Here’s what I’m doing this week, next week, and the week after that—and here’s what I’ll probably need a lawyer for.”

- You want to avoid common mistakes, delays, and family drama where possible
- You want someone to say, “If this were my family, here’s how I’d think about it.”
Who this is not for
This is not a good fit if:
- You’re outside Alabama, email Support@NextStepsAfterLoss.com
- You’re looking for someone to file court papers for you or appear as your attorney
- You want legal advice about what the judge will do or how to argue your case in court
